Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 2.29%

Nifty Metal index closed down 2.29% at 3089.85 today. The index has lost 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, JSW Steel Ltd fell 5.13%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd slipped 3.28% and Hindalco Industries Ltd shed 2.75%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 20.00% over last one year compared to the 1.62% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 2.14% and Nifty Media index has slid 2.10% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.84% to close at 10663.5 while the SENSEX has declined 0.76% to close at 35470.15 today.
