Ranbaxy Labs in focus on reports of being under DGCI scanner

India's drug regulator has reportedly ordered inspection of the two manufacturing facilities of Ranbaxy Laboratories that were banned from exporting medicines to the US. The office of the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) will inspect Ranbaxy's plants at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh and Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh, the two facilities that, according to the US Food & Drug Administration, violated good manufacturing practices mandated in that country.
