TD Power Systems jumps on bagging new order

TD Power Systems rose 8.36% to Rs 369.60 at 10:28 IST on BSE after the company said it received order from Diesel Locomotive Works to supply 10 traction alternators.

The announcement was made after trading hours yesterday, 30 March 2015.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 66.32 points, or 0.24%, to 28,042.18.

On BSE, so far 55,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 80,448 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 382 and a low of Rs 355.80 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 478.80 on 30 December 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 259 on 20 August 2014.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 30 March 2015, falling 6.70% compared with 4.72% decline in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 25.69% as against Sensex's 2.09% rise.

The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 33.24 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

TD Power Systems said it bagged an order for supply of 10 Traction alternators from Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi (DLW), a production unit owned by Indian Railways and the largest diesel-electric locomotive manufacturer in India. These Traction alternators are mounted on EDM locomotives manufactured by DLW in India. The order is based on a provisional approval consequent to an RDSO capability audit of the company. The Journey commenced in March 2013 culminating into this trial order. After acceptance of the generators by DLW, the company stands to be eligible for significant orders especially with the massive capex plan that the Indian Railways announced in the recent Union budget, TD Power Systems said.

TD Power Systems reported net loss of Rs 0.22 crore in Q3 December 2014 as against net profit of Rs 0.14 crore in Q3 December 2013. Net sales rose 23.12% to Rs 150.56 crore in Q3 December 2014 over Q3 December 2013.

TD Power Systems is one of the leading manufacturers of AC Generators in the world with products in the output range of 1 MW to 200 MW for prime movers, such as steam turbines, gas turbines, hydro turbines, diesel engines, gas and wind turbines. It also manufactures special application generators for Geo Thermal and Solar thermal applications.
