Nifty May futures at modest premium

The Nifty May 2018 futures traded at 10,816.15, a premium of 14.30 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 10,801.85 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 11.31 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 4.04 lakh crore registered in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 4.75 points or 0.04% to settle at 10,801.85.

Tata Steel, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Steel May 2018 futures traded at 628.10, at a premium over spot closing price of 627.

HDFC Bank May 2018 futures traded at 2045.10, at a premium over spot closing price of 2040.25. ICICI Bank May 2018 futures traded at 308.60, at a premium over spot closing price of 308.

The May 2018 F&O contracts expire on 31 May 2018.
