Nifty May Futures at discount
The Nifty May 2018 futures traded at 10,618.40, a discount of 14.90 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 10,633.30 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 10 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 7.64 lakh crore registered in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 55.35 points or 0.52% to settle at 10,633.30.
L&T, HDFC Bank and M&M were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. L&T May 2018 futures traded at 1377.95, at a discount over spot closing price of 1381. HDFC Bank May 2018 futures traded at 2016.80, at a discount over spot closing price of 2031.60. M&M May 2018 futures traded at 874.95, matching its spot closing price of 874.95.
The May 2018 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 31 May 2018.
