Utilties stocks edge lower

Utilties stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 7.01 points or 0.5% at 1407.91 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, BF Utilities Ltd (down 3.28%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 2.88%),NTPC Ltd (down 2.8%),Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 1.62%),Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 1.08%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were GE T&D India Ltd (down 1.02%), PTC India Ltd (down 0.87%), Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (down 0.72%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.38%), and Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.3%).

On the other hand, Va Tech Wabag Ltd (up 3.59%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 3.27%), and A2Z Infra Engineering Ltd (up 3.03%) turned up.

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 331.15 or 1.07% at 31149.76.

The Nifty 50 index was up 88.95 points or 0.98% at 9155.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 152.16 points or 1.45% at 10624.53.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 53.84 points or 1.45% at 3768.97.

On BSE,1385 shares were trading in green, 695 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
