Videocon Industries, UPL, NTPC and Andhra Bank are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 5 November 2013.
Coal India clocked volume of 22.65 lakh shares by 13:45 IST on BSE, a 15.68-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.45 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.66% to Rs 297.
Videocon Industries notched up volume of 3.15 lakh shares, a 14.98-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 21,000 shares. The stock rose 1.2% to Rs 181.40.
Videocon Industries today, 5 November 2013, said that Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in its Q3 Operations Report announced that the Wahoo-5 appraisal well in BM-C-30 Concession drilled the eastern flank of the Wahoo structure and encountered more than 200 net feet of high-quality pay in a pre-salt reservoir, with a total hydrocarbon column now established at 460 feet. Anadarko, through a wholly owned subsidiary, holds a 30-percent working interest and is the operator of BM-C-30. BP holds a 25-percent working interest, IBV Brasil holds 25-percent and Maersk holds the remaining 20-percent working interest. Wahoo-5 Appraisal Well was spudded on 17 June 2013 using Blackford Dolphin Rig.
IBV Brasil is a Brazilian joint venture company equally held by Videocon Energy Brazil, a wholly owned overseas subsidiary of Videocon, and BPRL Ventures N.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
UPL saw a volume of 10.04 lakh shares, a 5.83-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.72 lakh shares. The stock lost 0.15% to Rs 166.85.
NTPC clocked volume of 6.13 lakh shares, a 5.51-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.11 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.75% to Rs 147.80.
Andhra Bank saw volume of 18.38 lakh shares, a 5.2-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 3.54 lakh shares. The stock jumped 11.69% to Rs 70.25.
