Volumes jump at Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) counter

Shriram Transport Finance Company, New Delhi Television, Central Bank of India and Orissa Minerals Development Company are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 10 May 2013.

Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) clocked volume of 3.35 lakh shares by 13:39 IST on BSE, a 533.9-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1,000 shares. The stock surged 8.93% to Rs 218.95.

Shriram Transport Finance Company notched up volume of 2.34 crore shares, a 508.44-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 46,000 shares. The stock surged 3.72% to Rs 761.40 after Piramal Enterprises acquired about 10% stake in Shriram Transport Finance Company through bulk deals on BSE today, 10 May 2013.

PEL today, 10 May 2013, announced that it has acquired 2.28 crore shares of Shriram Transport Finance Company, representing about 10% stake in the company. The company paid Rs 723 per share with a total consideration of Rs 1652 crore for the acquisition of the share. The transaction was consummated/completed on the floor of the exchange, PEL said in a statement.

New Delhi Television (NDTV) saw volume of 5.70 lakh shares, a 57.25-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock galloped 18.03% to Rs 88.70 after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 27.81 crore in Q4 March 2013, as against net loss of Rs 41.33 crore in Q4 March 2012. Consolidated revenue jumped 37.06% Rs 196 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012. Operating profit galloped 425% to Rs 42 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012. The company announced the Q4 results after market hours on Thursday, 9 May 2013.

Central Bank of India clocked volume of 7.72 lakh shares, a 9.71-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 80,000 shares. The stock surged 5.05% to Rs 72.85.

Orissa Minerals Development Company saw volume of 22,000 shares, a 5.31-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock surged 7.06% to Rs 2,980.10.
