Volumes jump at Orient Cement counter

Akzo Nobel India, Crompton Greaves, ITC and JBF Industries are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 27 November 2014.

Orient Cement clocked volume of 10.35 lakh shares by 12:57 IST on BSE, a 50.83-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock rose 1.17% at Rs 146.70

Akzo Nobel India notched up volume of 1.55 lakh shares, a 24.69-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock gained 0.23% at Rs 1,266.

Crompton Greaves saw volume of 73.71 lakh shares, a 12.71-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5.80 lakh shares. The stock dropped 4.87% at Rs 194.50. According to reports, Avantha Holdings, a part of Crompton Greaves' promoter group, has sold 4.2 crore shares in the secondary equity market today, 27 November 2014.

ITC clocked volume of 21.35 lakh shares, a 5.92-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.61 lakh shares. The stock fell 1.11% at Rs 359.25.

JBF Industries saw volume of 7.12 lakh shares, a 4.6-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.55 lakh shares. The stock surged 10.06% at Rs 211.75.
