Volumes jump at Power Grid Corporation of India counter

Risa International, Colgate-Palmolive (India), Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Jubilant FoodWorks are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 19 December 2013.

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) clocked volume of 8.11 crore shares by 13:37 IST on BSE, a 33.29-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 24.39 lakh shares. The stock lost 0.1% at Rs 100 as the shares allotted in the company's follow-on public offer (FPO) were admitted for trading on the bourses today, 19 December 2013.

Risa International notched up volume of 5.13 lakh shares, a 5.84-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 88,000 shares. The stock slumped 13.4% at Rs 584.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) saw volume of 57,000 shares, a 5.35-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 11,000 shares. The stock rose 0.02% to Rs 1,300.

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals clocked volume of 17.44 lakh shares, a 4.52-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.86 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.6% to Rs 63.20.

Jubilant FoodWorks clocked volume of 68,000 shares, a 3.15-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 22,000 shares. The stock lost 0.17% to Rs 1,299.
