1.5 lakh students qualify for second phase of IIT entrance

A total of 1.5 lakh students qualified in the first stage of the entrance examinations for the Indian Institutes of Technology after the results were declared Tuesday, a release said.

After qualifying the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, these 1.5 lakh will now appear in the JEE Advanced, scheduled to be held June 2.

The JEE is being conducted in two parts for the first time from this year.
