1 killed, several hurt in Hamburg market knife attack

One person died and several others were injured in a stabbing attack at a supermarket in the German port city of Hamburg, police said on Friday.

The attacker has been arrested, Efe news reported.

The number of injured and the motive behind the attack were unknown.

"An offender has attacked and injured several people in a supermarket. A person died. Assailant arrested," Hamburg's police department said on Twitter.
