10,000 residential units for migrant workers in Alang

The Ministry of Shipping has decided to set up around 10,000 dwelling units for migrant labourers working at Asia's largest ship breaking yard Alang near Bhavnagar in Gujarat, it was announced on Friday.

At present there are around a thousand residential units for the migrant labourers residing there.

"Under the eco friendly development of Alang ship breaking yard, we are also developing around 10,000 residential units at Alang," Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told reporters here.
