At least 10 people were killed and 11 others injured in explosions at a munitions depot in eastern Siberia, media reported Wednesday.

As many as 20 explosions were heard at the depot near Bolshaya Tura village, some 6,200 km southeast of Moscow, Xinhua reported citing the reports that quoted official sources, adding that the explosions were probably caused by a wildfire raging nearby.

Helicopters and fire-fighters have been deployed at the scene, while 280 residents, including 83 children, were evacuated.
