At least 10 soldiers were killed and four injured when some militants attacked a checkpost of coastal guards near port city of Gwadar in Pakistan's Balochistan province early Saturday, reported Xinhua.
The pre-dawn attack occurred when an unknown number of attackers opened indiscriminate firing at the checkpost in Sansar area near Pakistan-Iran border, about 100 km from Gwadar city, local media said.
The insurgents later fled to unidentified place.
Security forces airlifted the dead and the injured people to Gwadar.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
In a separate incident, six militants were killed in exchange of fire with security forces, following a checkpost attack in the country's northwest Hangu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
