Air attacks against the hardline Islamic State (IS) group in the eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday killed 12 armed militants and injured two others, a government official said.
"Acting upon intelligence report, an unmanned plane of security forces targeted the hideouts of Islamic State group in parts of Achin district, Nangarhar province today afternoon and as a result 12 rebels were killed and two others injured," Attaullah Khogiani said.
The official added that there were no casualties on security personnel and civilians, Xinhua news agency reported.
Militants loyal to the IS outfit who are active in parts of Nangarhar province are yet to make comment.
