Haryana Police Friday raided 14 liquor vends here and arrested 13 men for selling liquor without licence and permit.
The raids were conducted by the crime branch in Badshahpur area of the city.
The police also recovered 1,878 bottles of country made liquor, 154 bottles of English liquor and 315 bottles of beer from the liquor vends.
Following a tip off, the police took action on the information that 14 liquor vends were operating in different areas without any licence and permit, a spokesperson of the police department said.
He said that during investigation it was found that these liquor vends had been opened by their owners in slum areas, and areas where people work on construction sites and live in crowded places.
He said police would continue taking action against such liquor vends. Also, investigation was on to find out involvement of any government functionary in this regard.
