The Border Security Force (BSF) Friday apprehended two people and seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of Rs.2.84 lakh face value from West Bengal's Malda district.

The arrests and seizure were made at the Malda railway station during a joint operation by the BSF and the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The two accused have been identified as Ishraful and Mohammad Sahbudin, both residents of Bihar. The accused, along with the recovered FICN, were handed over to the police, a BSF officer said.

The BSF has so far this year seized Rs.17.35 lakh in FICN across its South Bengal Frontier.
