Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has called Real Madrid's 15th straight victory "a great achievement" and said he expected Basel to advance in the Champions League.
Real defeated Basel 1-0 Wednesday night to qualify for the knockout stage in the Champions League. Basel will take on England's Liverpool in the last group match with winner going to the last 16, reports Xinhua.
"We were slower than usual. But we defended well and controlled the game. That we have put together a run of 15 wins is a great achievement for the club. Basel played impressively, with a lot of heart. It wasn't easy to win here," said Ancelotti after the game.
"Basel can certainly compete in Liverpool. They are physically strong, like to play well and are well-organised. Though it is always difficult at Anfield, I see Basel having a slight advantage against Liverpool."
