At least 19 Myanmar nationals, including seven children, were arrested on Wednesday from West Bengal's Malda district for entering India without valid documents, police said.
The group of two men, 10 women and seven children were arrested in the early hours of the day from Malda Town railway station by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
"The group entered India through Bangladesh around 10 days ago and planned to travel to Delhi in search of work. They do not possess any travel documents and hence we apprehended the men and women," said a GRP officer.
"While the adults were presented in a court, the children's case has been forwarded to the juvenile justice board," added the officer.
