A court extended Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Yasin Bhatkal's police custody till Jan 3 after Delhi Police said they wanted to question him to find the source of the explosives he allegedly supplied to two accused in the Sep 13, 2008 Karol Bagh blasts.

As police requested court to grant them 15 days custody to unearth the conspiracy saying that he will be likely taken to Karnataka, Additional Sessions Judge Daya Prakash allowed Delhi Police to quiz Bhatkal till Jan 3.

Meanwhile, the court sent another accused Asadullah Akhtar to 15 days police custody in connection with the blast in Greater Kailash area of south Delhi on the same day.

Akhtar was sent to ten days police custody with Bhatkal by the court on Dec 10 in connection with the blast in Karol Bagh area in central Delhi.

Police told the court that Akhtar's custody is not required in this case but requested them to allow his custodial interrogation in the Greater Kailash blast case.

Several bomb blasts had rocked the capital city Sep 13, 2008. As many as 13 suspected Indian Mujahideen members are currently facing trial in the case.
