The 2014 Beijing International Marathon has started registration for foreign runners, organisers revealed here Sunday.
The organisers have adjusted the race events and slots allocation with the mini marathon event that was cancelled in 2014. The full-race marathon will be open to 26,000 entrants and half-marathon to 4,000 entrants, reports Xinhua.
According to the organisers, the registration for foreign runners starts Sunday, two days later than the start of the process for local runners Friday.
A green channel will be available for foreign entrants via the official website of the race and they will be given a certain number of priority race slots.
Launched in 1981, Beijing Marathon is the most historical marathon race in China and also an IAAF Gold Label race for seven consecutive years.
The 34th edition of Beijing Marathon is scheduled to kick off Oct 19 at Beijing Tiananmen Square and finish at National Olympic Park.
