21 militants killed in Afghanistan military operations

At least 21 Taliban militants were killed in the past 24 hours during series of military operations in Afghanistan, the country's interior ministry said on Sunday.

At least 11 militants were injured during the operations which covered parts of Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktiya, Herat and Helmand provinces, Xinhua cited the official statement as saying.

The statement did not say if there were casualties amonng security personnel.

The Taliban militant group was yet to comment.
