Police Monday arrested three people involved in the murder of a Nigerian national in Goa.
A police spokesperson said Ashish Gaonkar, Sagar Naik and Rohan Palyekar were arrested and will be produced for remand Tuesday.
The trio was part of a drug gang which attacked Nigerian Obado Simeon and hacked him to death with knives and swords Oct 31. Two people have already been arrested in the case.
The incident resulted in a conflict between Nigerians on the one hand and the police and residents of the area on the other. A crackdown on Nigerians triggered a diplomatic standoff with Nigeria threatening action against Indians in Nigeria.
