Over 500 trucks carrying perishable essential goods for the Kashmir Valley were stranded on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Friday, officials said.

A senior official said here that the trucks had poultry products, vegetables and sheep.

"Most trucks are driven by people belonging to the valley who are stranded at places like Reasi, Udhampur and Ramban districts. Locals are giving these drivers every possible help," said the official.
