6.1 magnitude quake hits near Solomon Islands
An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted 78km south west of Kirakira, Solomon Islands on Friday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 13.99 km, was initially determined to be at 10.9442 degrees south latitude and 161.4025 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
