An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit the Philippines on Thursday, although no casualty or damages were reported.

The quake, whose epicentre was located at a depth of 6 km, struck 3.3 km northeast of Masarayao in the Leyte province and 12.3 km northeast of Ormoc, according to the US Geological Survey.
