7.2-magnitude quake jolts Tajikistan: USGS

A powerful earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale shook Tajikistan on Monday, the USGS said.

The epicentre of the quake was 109 km west of Murghob, Tajikistan.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) put the intensity of the quake at 7.0 on the Richter scale.

The quake also shook Afghanistan and parts on northern India, including capital Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
