An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale jolted China's Xinjiang at 5.19 p.m. Wednesday, according to preliminary readings by the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicentre was monitored at 36.2 degrees north latitude and 82.5 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported citing a statement issued by the centre.
