876 booked in Ghaziabad for traffic offences

Ghaziabad police have booked 876 unruly drivers in the past five days under their 'traffic month' campaign, an official said Wednesday.

A total of 444 people were booked for riding two-wheelers without helmets while the rest were booked for using mobile phones during driving, jumping red light and other offences, a statement said.

Traffic police also collected Rs.88,200 as spot penalties, it said.

The special drive of 'traffic month', launched Nov 1, will continue till Nov 30.
