In yet another embarrassment for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), its Kondli legislator Manoj Kumar was on Thursday detained for questioning by the Delhi Police in an assault case.
The detention came two months after an FIR was registered against Manoj Kumar on a complaint that he and his accomplices had thrashed a man in Mayur Vihar (Phase-III) here.
Manoj Kumar was detained for questioning in the two-month-old Mayur Vihar assault case and might be formally arrested, if needed, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said.
Manoj Kumar is among the 21 AAP legislators against whom Delhi Police have reportedly decided to file chargesheets in connection with criminal cases registered against them in various police stations of the national capital.
These 21 AAP leaders include Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal -- who has three cases against him, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.
