Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists on Thursday protested outside Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma's house here to protest against alleged deterioration in the educational system in the state and poor academic results.
Earlier, AAP supporters gathered at the Sector 23 market here and marched towards the minister's house amid slogan-shouting.
The protesters said the economically weaker sections of society were unable to secure admissions in schools while there was no government control over fees of private schools in Haryana.
They later submitted a memorandum meant to be handed over to the minister to "find ways and means to tackle the deteriorating educational system in Haryana ... and the highhanded way the private schools are running as a business".
The protesters said admissions were not made available to economically weaker sections under the Haryana School Education Rules of 2003, as amended in 2013.
