Abhishek Bachchan gets 8 mn followers on Twitter

After getting eight million followers on Twitter, actor Abhishek Bachchan thanked his fans and followers and asked them to unite to help flood-hit Chennai "get back to normal".

The son of megastar Amitabh Bachchan went on to add that "every little thing counts".

"And our Twitter crew grows to eight million! Thank you all. Eight million of us?Must get together and do whatever we can to help namma Chennai get back to normal. Every little thing counts," Abhishek tweeted on Friday.

Heavy rains pounded many parts of Tamil Nadu over the last few weeks. Although the downpour has stopped and the water level has receded in many places, the city and its people are still limping back to normalcy.

The Bollywood star, who is a co-owner of Chennai team in Indian Super League (ISL), was also stranded in the city at the time of flood when the airport was shut due to the rising water level. He had to take a bus to reach Mumbai.
