Abu Dhabi, March 15 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi's fifth Crisis and Emergency Management Conference has called for unified policies in the Gulf region to deal with threats and dangers, especially geopolitical ones.
The two-day event "Innovative Approaches towards a Safe Nation", organised by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority which concluded on Monday, saw the participation of a prominent group of local, regional and international experts in the field of emergency, crises and disaster management.
It made a number of recommendations, the most notably to channel energies and capabilities of youth into innovation and creativity and to leverage communication technologies and social media.
The conference, the fifth edition of CEMC, also called for support efforts by countries to spread principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The recommendations were summarised by Nasser Mohammad Humaid Al Yammahi, director of media and public information at the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority.
The Authority thanked all those who participated and contributed to the success of the fifth edition of CEMC, and invited to the CEMC Sixth Edition, to be held in 2018.
