The AAP government on Thursday told the Delhi High Court that anti-corruption branch (ACB) chief M.K. Meena has not been working in "accordance with law" and not allowing anyone else to work.

Justice V.P. Vaish was informed by senior advocate Dayan Krishnan, appearing for Delhi government that since no order has been passed in the contempt case filed by it against Meena for interfering in the agency's working, he has become more aggressive.

Appearing for Meena, Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh told the court that Meena has been "acting as per the law" and refuted the claim of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government that he was not allowing anyone to work. He also sought further time to file a response on the plea.

The court posted the matter for October 19.

The court was hearing a plea of the Delhi government seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against Meena for interfering in its working and seeking direction against him for not receiving a complaint made by a sub-divisional magistrate against some Delhi Development Agency officials while they were allegedly accepting a bribe.
