Police in Beijing have detained 27 people, including a prolific microblogger, after they were found to have been involved in prostitution, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau said Wednesday.
Chinese-American Xue Charles Bi-Chuen (60), an investor and prolific microblogger with more than 12 million followers, was arrested in Chaoyang district of Beijing last Friday, Xinhua reported citing police.
He has been accused of group licentiousness for participating in group sex parties, according to police. Among the detainees 18 are women, who were captured earlier this month.
Police reported the detaining of Xue to the US embassy in China Aug 24.
