Afghan police backed by the army killed over a dozen Taliban militants during series of operations across the country in the past 24 hours, the interior ministry said in a statement released here Saturday.
"Afghan National Police backed by the army conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations in Nangarhar, Laghman, Logar and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours leaving 13 Taliban rebels dead," Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.
Ten more militants have been captured during the operations, it added.
However, it did not say if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
