Afghan president to attend Davos meeting

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left Kabul on Wednesday to attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, a statement released by his office here said.

During the two-day visit Ghani will meet NATO secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and heads of several states and economic entities to exchange views on matters of mutual interest, Xinhua reported.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan and the US will be held to exchange views on the situation in Afghanistan, and peace and stability in the region and the world, the statement added.
