A total 80 staff members at the Raj Niwas here pledged to donate their body organs after Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung did so, a statement said Thursday.
"Eighty staff members of the Raj Niwas have pledged to donate their organs out of the 173 staff on rolls," the statement said.
Organ donation is one the campaigns being run by the Delhi Government as part of its week-long Independence Day celebrations.
On May 23, in a visit to Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Delhi, Jung had pledged to donate his body organs.
Jung's wife Ameena Jung too has pledged to donate her organs.
"More and more people ought to come forward and take this pledge. Not only does it give an afterlife to the organs of the deceased, but it can prove to be critical in saving lives and adding value to the life of the recipient," Jung said, lauding the decision of the employees at Raj Niwas.
