AIIB approves $600 mn loan for Azerbaijan
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has approved a loan of $600 million for an energy project in Azerbaijan, the bank said on Thursday.
The loan, the largest the bank has made, would be used to support construction of Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project from Azerbaijan through Turkey, reports Xinhua news agency.
Once completed the pipeline would transport natural gas from Azerbaijan fields into Turkey and then on to markets in southern Europe.
