India's premiere All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) will start a new anti-ragging helpline at 9868397028 to help the students report harassment incidents in the medical college.

Also, four teams each with four members will be formed to keep an eye on the hostel premises during the night time.

"The decision to set up the 24x7 helpline was taken keeping in mind the cases of ragging happening in the college as well as hostel campuses. The helpline will keep the administration updated about the cases happening and help us take action against the guilty students," M.C. Misra, AIIMS director, told IANS.

The decisions were taken during the review meeting held before the start of the new MBBS and MD/MS sessions.

Misra also said Delhi Police have been urged to keep two Police Control Room (PCR) vans posted in the hostel premises, for boys' as well as girls' hostels.

"Through all such arrangements we want to convey the message that there won't be any tolerance against ragging...," he said.

A new public announcement system will also be set up in the college campus.

Also a new SMS system will be started through which all the students of the hospital and Medical college will be sent reminders on important topics, including important seminars, discussions and lectures.
