New budget carrier AirAsia India Monday announced that it would operate a daily service to Kerala's Kochi from here July 20.
"We are offering some promotional seats at Rs.500, including taxes on the new route for which passengers can book from June 17-22 to fly between July 20 and Oct 25," the airline said in a statement here.
The Indian-Malaysian joint venture commenced its operations June 12 with a daily service from Bangalore to Goa and will launch its second service to Chennai June 19.
"We are able to announce our third destination (Kochi) within a few days of our launch as we are encouraged by the response to our product and service," AirAsia chief executive Mittu Chaindilya said in the statement.
The low-cost carrier has done due diligence on operating the third service with a view to reaching out more first-time fliers.
"We will stand by our promise to deliver a quality product to our customers that promises value for their money," Chandilya said.
As a leading low-cost carrier in Asia, the airline services an extensive network with 87 destinations. Within 12 years of operations, it has carried over 200 million passengers and grown its fleet to 150.
