A private airlines employee was stabbed to death when he tried to prevent an attempt by unidentified assailants to molest a woman, police said Thursday.
Manoj Sharma was stabbed in his abdomen on his way back home in Palam area late Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
A witness told police that Sharma was riding a motorcycle and saw a woman being molested by two assailants. He stopped and tried to prevent the molestation.
"The men attacked him with a knife. He received grievous injuries in his abdomen," a police officer said.
Sharma is survived by his wife and an 11-year-old son.
