Amit Jogi and Renu Jogi, son and wife of Congress leader Ajit Jogi, figured in the second list of 45 candidates announced by the party Monday for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections to be held Nov 11 and 19.
The poll results will be out Dec 8.
Chhattisgarh has a 90-member house. The Congress had announced the names of candidates for 17 seats Oct 11. After Monday's announcement, candidates for 18 seats still remain to be named.
While Amit Jogi will contest the Marwahi reserved seat, his mother Renu Jogi will fight from the Kota assembly seat.
Senior leader Ravindra Choubey will contest from Saja while Arun Vora, son of Congress treasurer Moti Lal Vora, will fight from Durg city seat.
The first list featured family members of the three senior party leaders who were killed in a Maoist ambush May 25.
Umesh Patel, son of then state party unit chief Nand Kumar Patel, Devti Karma, wife of Mahendra Karma and Alka Mudaliyar, wife of former MLA Uday Mudaliyar, have been given tickets for the assembly poll.
Umesh Patel, whose brother Dinesh was also killed in the ambush, will fight from Kharsia seat.
Devti Karma will contest the Dantewada reserve seat.
Significantly, Alka Mudaliyar has been put up against Chief Minister Raman Singh of the BJP in Rajnandgaon.
Kawasi Lakhma, the lone Congress MLA from the tribal Bastar region, has again been given a ticket for the Konta reserve seat.
On May 25, in one of the biggest attacks in the history of Maoist insurgency, the rebels wiped out the entire frontline of the Congress leadership in the state.
The party convoy was returning from a "Parivartan Yatra" (procession for transformation) at Darbha Ghaati.
Vidya Charan Shukla, former chief minister and union minister, who was seriously wounded in the attack, succumbed to injuries in a Gurgaon hospital.
