Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday appointed senior journalist Raveen Thukral as his media adviser.
Thukral, 52, had steered Amarinder Singh's media campaign in the assembly polls in Punjab.
He has been appointed Media Advisor in the rank of Minister of State.
Thukral started with the Patriot newspaper in 1986 and worked with the Hindustan TImes in Delhi and Chandigarh. He was Associate Editor with The Tribune before joining the ITV Group of TV channels.
The Punjab government also named Bharat Inder Singh Chahal as Advisor to the Chief Minister.
Chahal, a former media advisor during the previous Congress regime (2002-07, is a confidant of Amarinder Singh.
