Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national President Amit Shah on Saturday termed the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as 'Rahu-Ketu' -- two detrimental planets according to Hindu mythology.
He also urged party supporters to work to establish a BJP government in the 2017 assembly elections in the state.
Addressing a public rally in Mau, Shah said till SP and BSP keep coming to power in Uttar Pradesh, development of the state was not possible.
He also detailed achievements of several BJP-led NDA governments and announced five crore poor families would soon be given free gas cylinders and stoves. Of these, four lakh families have already received the benefit, he added.
He also accused the Akhilesh Yadav government of misappropriation of funds sent by the Centre.
