BJP national president Amit Shah will kick off the party's door-to-door campaign, 'Gujarat Gaurav Mahasampark Abhiyan' for the assembly elections on Tuesday, with several Union Ministers pitching in during the six-day drive.
The campaign will be held from the November 7-12, during which the party leaders and workers, right from the local to the national level, will approach voters individually at their doorsteps with the message of development.
Addressing media persons here, BJP leader I.K. Jadeja said: "Party president Amit Shah will kick off the campaign from his former Naranpura state assembly constituency of Ahmedabad at 9 a.m. He will meet the people during this campaign."
Jadeja said that state Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the state party president, Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Prakash Javadekar, J.P. Nadda, V.K. Singh, Thavarchand Gehlot, and state Ministers would visit the districts during this campaign. He said there will be a battery of other ministers in the central government campaigning in Gujarat.
Chief Minister Rupani will kick off the campaign from Rajkot, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel from Mahesana, state BJP president Jitu Vaghani from Bhavnagar, former Chief Minister Anandiben Patel from Ghatlodia, BJP Gujarat-in-charge Bhupendra Yadav from Ahmedabad.
Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Sitharaman, Javadekar and Nadda will address the media on different days.
According to Jadeja, Shah will visit various places, including Ambaji mandir, in Naranpura constituency on Tuesday morning.
Literature featuring development works by the BJP government will be distributed among the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message will also be handed over to people.
Shah has completed the visit to assembly seats of 16 districts so far, and on Tuesday 20 assembly seats will be toured by him. Thus Shah will tour total 36 districts to guide party workers, added Jadeja.
There is speculation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the Mahasampark Abhiyan on November 9.
