AMU lifts intervarsity hockey trophy

Hosts Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) won the North Zone Intervarsity Hockey Tournament defeating Punjabi University, Patiala, 6-2.

Skipper Syed Nihal Wajid, Mohd. Asif Siddiqi, Farough Alvi, Lalit Mohan, Mohd. Salman Khan and Mohd. Moied Ahmad scored a goal each for AMU while Javinder Singh and Govind scored one goal each for the visitors.

In another match, Kurukshetra University defeated Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, 3-0. Neeraj, Manpreet and Naveen scored a goal each.
