Tamil actor Murli Ram, former video jockey, says the experience he gained while interviewing several popular actors as an anchor came in handy when he donned the greasepaint.

"Interviewing popular stars such as Kamal Haasan and Vikram helped me understand cinema better. I've learnt from them the importance of fitness in an actor's life. Actors such as Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan, who've been anchors in the past, have great influence on me," Murli said in a statement.

Having played important roles in films such as "Poriyalan", "Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kadhalum" and "Kandupidi Kandupidi", he is currently awaiting release of a yet-untitled Tamil film.
