A court in Andhra Pradesh Friday sent a Congress legislator to jail for making alleged provocative remarks.
T. Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, a member of state assembly from Sangareddy in Medak district, was arrested and jailed in a case booked against him in 2010.
A court in Sangareddy had issued a non-bailable warrant against Jagga Reddy for not appearing in the court despite the summons.
After the arrest, Jagga Reddy moved a bail petition but the same will only come up for hearing Monday.
Police in Sangareddy town had booked a case against Jagga Reddy in 2010 for making some objectionable comments against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator Harish Rao.
